Scholarship Fund in honor of William C. Stanley

Dear Colleagues,

William Stanley

As most of you know, William C. Stanley, the founding father of the SHVM, passed away in 2013.

In honor of his memory and being mindful of Bill’s priority towards the support and mentoring of early investigators, the SHVM Board has decided to establish:

  1. The William C. Stanley (Memorial) Lecture, to be given each year at the SHVM conference by an established investigator in the field of cardiac metabolism.
  2. The William C. Stanley Early Investigator Scholarship, to be awarded also each year at the SHVM conference (as long as funds allow).

We would like to ask you to consider contributing funds for the establishment of the William C. Stanley Early Investigator Scholarship. For your convenience, donations can be made directly online via our website.

Should you require a receipt (e.g., for tax purposes), please contact the SHVM Treasurer, Martin Young, and he will be happy to provide this to you.

Any contribution to this Scholarship Fund is greatly appreciated. Depending on the total amount of funds received, the SHVM Board will formulate the exact details of the award (i.e., number and amount of awards per year) and will communicate these details to you at a later date.
